Corporate Affairs Head for Mars Wrigley Brazil
Lead the Corporate Affairs (CA) function in the Brazil market, consistent with Mars Wrigley, Incorporated.
Ensure connectivity of CA to market business leaders, including providing leaders with insights and tools to achieve business strategies and goals, and keep associates engaged appropriately to achieve constant growth.
Develop and implement the Corporate Reputation strategy in Brazil, including building corporate and brand reputation, managing crisis in line with global protocols, championing the communication of our Principles in Action, both internally and externally.
Identify and develop positions, papers and policy statements on relevant corporate issues, and be the "content owner" of the issues/policies for Brazil.
Protect the businesses' freedom to operate and identify opportunities for growth through the development and implementation of effective Public Affairs (PA) strategies.
What are we looking for?
- Able to execute corporate, segment and market communication strategies
- Experience with government interaction / government relations, trade associations, stakeholder engagement and advocacy
- Hands on, fast thinking, proven experience in project management
- Tests and challenges team members' thinking and proposes solutions and courses of action proactively
- Good understanding of key communications concepts to ensure proper execution of all corporate communications
- Experience serving on a management team (desire)
- Transparent and open, a thoughtful communicator and good organizer, fitting within the Mars culture
- Sound experience, good judgment and poise in a crisis situation.
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Champion and further develop Corporate Affairs for Mars Wrigley in the Brazil market.
- Communicate and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders at the market level, including associates, government/regulators, non-governmental organizations, academia, key opinion formers, and communities.
- Drive and evaluate the company's internal and external communications, public relations, community affairs, and corporate social responsibility activities in alignment with corporate policies within Brazil and through specific segment needs.
- Ensure best practice in developing and implement external communication tools, systems and processes, and ensure best practices in accordance with the standards.
- Work closely with Brazil Human Resources function to align on external and internal communication as necessary.
- Provide Brazil crisis management and communications in accordance with CALM framework and Corporate Affairs protocols, including ensuring crisis training and tools are in place
- Support CA colleagues, the market GMs, regional leadership, global CA, and other senior leadership by understanding and capturing key trends at the market level, including developing applicable content for the issue/policy database.
- Anticipate, manage and coordinate responses to issues in Brazil that hold the potential to affect the company's image, reputation and stakeholder positioning.
- Interface with the Global CA team to ensure market perspectives are fully considered and integrated into communications, policies, and strategies.
- Advise and guide the business regarding external/internal threats and opportunities and create strategies to protect, enhance and/or accelerate business strategies.
- Customize and implement global/segment strategy to market specifications.
- Implement Public Affairs (PA) strategy in the market, considering the following work streams: External Funding, Stakeholder Engagement, Issues Management, Trade & Tariffs and Trade Associations.
- Identify local
