About the role Zoocha is seeking a Senior UI Designer to join our growing cross-functional Experience Team. We're looking for a UI designer that is passionate about their craft and can create flexible design systems that offer clients flexibility for their digital landscape.
Why we are hiring We're entering an exciting new phase at Zoocha, strengthening our creative capabilities to support our UK-based design team and growing our presence in Brazil. As part of that, we're looking for someone to join us in a pivotal production design role – someone who's hands-on, reliable, and capable of producing high-quality UI outputs with minimal oversight.
Your Remit This role is ideal for someone with excellent UI production craft, who enjoys turning ideas and designs into polished, scalable design systems and components.
You'll be working closely with our UK Experience and Delivery teams to roll out design deliverables – largely in Figma – across a range of digital projects including websites, native mobile apps and global and multi-brand design systems. You'll take direction from creative leads and focus on executing designs with precision and consistency.
While this is a production-focused role – and isn't client-facing – it's an exciting opportunity to lay the foundations for creative capability in our Brazil office.
You'll be the first design-focused hire in the Brazil team, so there's scope to grow into a more senior/managerial role, helping shape future hires and likely collaborating on Brazil-based projects alongside our mobile and development teams.
What we're looking for from you Minimum of 4–5 years of digital design experience, ideally in an agency or fast-paced production environment Exceptional UI design craft paired with an understanding of UX principles Deep expertise in Figma, with the ability to output responsive, component-based designs at pace Confidence working within existing design systems and creating and maintaining new ones from supplied concepts Experience with Jira and Confluence, and comfortable responding to Jira tickets in a timely and efficient manner Attention to detail, with a strong grasp of layout, spacing, accessibility and interface polish A calm, consistent "safe pair of hands" – comfortable working independently to deliver production-ready UI files Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers and PMs Excellent communication and file hygiene – your files should be easy to follow and hand off A strong visual portfolio demonstrating component-based UI work, responsive layout rollouts and production-level craft Passionate about improving work quality and growing your capabilities, craft and excellence Great communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts easily to people from other disciplines and backgrounds A good commercial awareness, helping ensure work is delivered on time within budget
Nice-to-have experience Experience working with mobile UI or e-commerce flows Familiarity with accessibility standards Exposure to motion or interaction design (but not essential) Experience in shaping or recruiting for a creative team
Expectations This is ideally a hybrid working role, with an expectation that you'll be based at our Brazil office at least one day per week. However, we are accepting applications from remote workers.
Mandatory requirements Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
