As Technical Services Engineer, your role is to support the regional growth of our business by providing hands-on and remote support to Pulp and Paper customers in the region, in close collaboration with the local P&P team as part of a global team of experts. You will participate in developing and maintaining strong relationships to our customers as well as planning, running mill trials and identifying business opportunities. Functionally you will report to the Global Technical Services Director while administratively you will report to the Regional Director SAM.
You will be responsible for:
1. Providing remote and hands-on technical support to key accounts with initial focus on the Northeast region of Brazil
2. Participate in coordination, planning, execution, and follow up of mill trials including reporting and documentation
3. Working closely with local account managers and tech service managers to develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers in pulp and paper mills
4. Identifying customer needs, supporting the development of solutions as well as providing technical assessments of opportunities
5. Participate in identifying and assesing market potential and business opportunities in the region. Respecting local environmental requirements, safety practices, equipment and quality issues relevant to the business and in close coordination with mills, to enable safe trialling of enzymes
6. As part of the global application team, contributing to innovation processes with technical application knowledge
About You
Required qualifications and skills:
7. Preferably degree in pulp and paper science, engineering course or comparable
8. Work experience in pulp mills or suppliers to this industry is desirable
9. Experience and ability to operate and maintain dosing/pumping equipment necessary for enzyme applications is desirable
10. Experience in application of enzymes is a clear asset, but not essential
11. Demonstrated ability to effectively translate between technology and customer needs
12. Willingness and ability to travel frequently
13. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
15. Ability to use statistical software tools for analysing and displaying trial trends and results
16. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in Portuguese and English are essential
17. Structured and results-oriented person taking a proactive approach with a sense of urgency in driving projects to completion while dealing with multiple priorities
18. Preferably based in Espírito Santo or Bahia region in Brazil
