To be considered, please submit your CV/Resume in English.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide practical legal advice and support across a range of business functions in Brazil (in charge) and internationally and on ad hoc projects (as support)Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, e.g. purchase, distribution and service agreements, IT contracts, Terms and Conditions, Data PrivacyAssist with all company matters, including commercial, competition and employmentResponsible for maintaining and updating the company's legal records and licenses with the relevant authoritiesWork towards the creation and continuous improvement of contract templates and processesPromote a culture of compliance and ethics within the teamAssist with the implementation of policies, procedures and best practicesMonitor and report on the latest legislative and judicial developments/changes in the country, inter alia, advising the Board of Directors on potential impacts and risksWork cross-functionally with all internal stakeholders, including finance, HR, IT, distribution, regulatory, procurement teams and marketingDevelop and deliver training sessions for local teams on various legal topicsEffectively collaborate with external counsel when appropriateRepresent the company in court and local authoritiesQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in Law from Brazil, member of the Brazilian Bar Association, with excellent academic credentials. Postgraduate degree in Corporate Law or Compliance or similar qualification is an advantageAt least 8 years of substantial relevant experience with a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department, preferably in the healthcare, pharmaceutical or related sectors.Fluency in English and Portuguese is required. Additional language skills are an advantage.In-depth knowledge of Brazilian labor, commercial, competition and compliance legislation, with specific knowledge of the LGPD. Knowledge of regulations from Animal Health and Agricultural Regulatory Agencies (ANVISA, MAPA, SIPEAGRO, ADAB, etc.) is a plus.Strong grounding in ethics and corporate governance, with the ability to advise on ethical business practices and corporate governance issues.Experience in dealing with complex compliance issues, including antitrust and anti-corruption laws. Ability to conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on risk management, especially in areas unique to the Brazilian market.Experience with Brazilian legal proceedings, including administrative and judicial proceedings, and the ability to represent the company before local authorities.Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills in an international environment.Team-oriented, self-directed and hands-on, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership and the ability to network effectively within the legal and regulatory community.Experience working internationally and remotely in multiple locations, ideally within a matrix organization.Ability to understand business issues, identify legal issues in commercial transactions and provide practical legal recommendations and business considerations.Covetrus is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
