What you will do
The Legal Entity Accountant is responsible for:
Completeness and accuracy of both the US and Local GAAP & Tax reporting, including recording the statutory ledgers and maintaining accuracy of parallel ledgers (if applicable), focusing on ensuring the correct tax accounting and coordination with internal and external audit teams.
Complete and accurate accounting for all the General process flows for the Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
Timely closing & execution of financial periods as per closing calendar and in accordance with Compliance, Internal Audit & SOX requirements.
Completeness, accuracy and validity of the actuals reported within process/entity scope.
Regular focus on Balance Sheet reconciliations to minimize open items.
Influence and execute process improvements, generating ideas and implementing them in line with global standards.
Take the statement of cash flows under IFRS for the legal entities under its responsibility.
Reconciliation between local and corporate figures.
Perform supervision tasks to analysts that include performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, etc.
Ensures accuracy and adherence to Corporate policies and IFRS.
Compliance
Support auditors and legal authorities with the execution of required activities.
Understand, adhere to, and execute worldwide policies and procedures.
Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions to remediate/prevent breaches.
Ensure strong internal controls are in place to achieve "adequate" internal and external audit ratings.
Leadership and People Management
Recruiting, onboarding, and training of new joiners.
On-the-job training for new team members/BPO partners.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
At least 4 years of professional experience working in big four (PWC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte) or managing external audit.
Strong analytical skills.
Knowledge of general accounting processes.
Solid IFRS or USGAAP accounting knowledge.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, interpersonal skills, understanding of accounting principles and practices, compliance knowledge (SOX and internal controls).
Desired Qualifications
At least 1 year of management/supervisory experience.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
Be open to new ideas, rapid change, and embracing new technologies.
Experience in a Shared Service Centre of a multinational corporation or BPO.
Successfully manage multiple priorities, be very organized and work efficiently to tight deadlines.
Knowledge of local regulations in countries other than Colombia.
