SIB's mission is to design and drive long term, enterprise-wide transformation by evaluating policies, programs, and resources, while striving toward maximum organizational efficiency and effectiveness. It serves as a primary advisor to the police commissioner regarding the department's short- and long-term strategic goals. SIB examines new technologies and explores innovative solutions to help the Department to fulfill its primary mission of keeping New York City safe.SIB's Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) is responsible for understanding the nature and extent of program development and the resources required to successfully launch such programs. OSI's objective is to increase the impact and effectiveness of both new and already existing programs across the Department through sound program design guidelines and outputs. OSI engages stakeholders to design the goals of proposed programs and then researches, and conducts focus groups and stakeholder interviews to confirm the design. Once programs are launched, OSI works diligently to support other bureaus in managing these programs through the use of performance and evaluation data to ensure continuous improvement over the life of the program. Lastly, OSI provides an end to end view of the elements of the program activity, allowing the impact to be fully considered and understood.SIB seeks an Executive Director for its Program Design & Policy Section.The candidate will manage program design and development activities based on stakeholder requirements.
