Role Overview:
The SEO Strategist is responsible for developing and executing data-driven SEO strategies to enhance organic rankings, drive targeted traffic, and optimize lead generation for clients. This role requires expertise in keyword research, content planning, backlink acquisition, and Google Business Profile (GBP) optimization. The SEO Strategist collaborates with internal teams to align SEO initiatives with broader digital marketing objectives while continuously monitoring industry trends and algorithm updates.
Reports To: Director of Operations (DOO) | Project Managers (PM)
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct advanced keyword research to identify high-impact opportunities.
2. Develop and implement keyword mapping strategies across content and target pages.
3. Monitor keyword performance and adjust strategies based on ranking fluctuations.
4. Create and manage content calendars in collaboration with the content team.
5. Optimize website content, meta descriptions, title tags, and headers.
6. Implement internal linking strategies to improve page authority and user experience.
7. Develop and execute high-quality backlink acquisition strategies.
8. Identify and outreach to relevant websites for link-building opportunities.
9. Monitor backlink profiles and disavow harmful links when necessary.
10. Ensure full optimization of GBP listings for local search visibility.
11. Implement location-based strategies for multi-location businesses.
12. Track and improve local keyword rankings and user engagement metrics.
13. Provide weekly SEO performance reports on rankings, traffic, and conversions.
14. Conduct competitive analysis and track industry benchmarks.
15. Measure and optimize Cost Per Lead (CPL) and conversion rates from organic search.
16. Work closely with the DOO and PMs in daily check-ins to align priorities.
17. Coordinate with content teams, web developers, and paid ad specialists for holistic digital marketing success.
18. Stay updated on Google algorithm changes, AI advancements, and SEO trends.
Qualifications
1. Strong critical thinking and analytical mindset.

3. Detail-oriented and highly organized.
4. Adaptability and strong collaboration skills.
5. Proficiency in Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Moz.
6. Experience with WordPress, Webflow, and Shopify SEO.
7. Familiarity with SurferSEO, Clearscope, and Grammarly.
8. Ability to use Slack, ClickUp, Asana, Notion, Google Docs, and Sheets.
9. 3+ years of SEO experience preferred (agency experience a plus).
10. Background in Google Business Strategy & Local SEO preferred.
11. Google SEO Certification or equivalent preferred.
Schedule: 8 am to 6 pm
Compensation: around $2,500 /month
