Job Description
The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing tax compliance, tax reporting, and transfer pricing for the agencies and shared service center in Argentina. This includes ensuring standardization of tax procedures across all agencies, guaranteeing compliance with Argentine tax regulations, and identifying tax planning opportunities to optimize the company's fiscal position. The Tax Manager must also provide support and guidance to tax team, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of tax processes in accordance with corporate policies and local regulations.
Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
1. Supervise tax compliance processes, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all applicable taxes, including direct and indirect taxes.
2. Ensure compliance with Argentine tax legislation and monitor changes in tax regulations, advising the company on necessary adjustments.
3. Approve corporate income tax calculations and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
4. Oversee tax reconciliations and ensure they align with financial statements.
5. Coordinate the tax forecast and ETR (Effective Tax Rate) reporting with the Tax LATAM Director.
6. Manage tax documentation and maintain updated records for audits and internal controls.
7. Develop tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position, while ensuring full legal compliance.
8. Support transfer pricing compliance, including documentation and reporting requirements.
9. Identify tax risks and opportunities for savings within business operations.
10. Provide guidance on the tax implications of new business structures, mergers, and acquisitions.
Tax Audits & Authorities
1. Act as the main liaison with Argentine tax authorities, handling inquiries, audits, and potential disputes.
2. Supervise tax litigation processes and manage tax-related legal matters with internal and external advisors.
3. Ensure proper responses to tax assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
Internal & External Stakeholder Management
1. Coordinate and collaborate with CFOs, Controllers, and external tax advisors to align tax strategies with business objectives.
2. Support internal and external audits, ensuring tax compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
3. Provide tax training and awareness to internal teams to enhance compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications
Experience in the area:
10 years of experience in Legal / Tax or Accounting areas in medium or large companies. Passing through BIG4 is a differential.
Required education:
Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting or Business Administration
Languages:
Fluent English level is required.
Required Skills:
1. Understands the link between revenues/costs and uses this information to guide economic focus.
2. Knowledge in Tax, Corporate, Commercial Legislation and large systems. Experience in relation to the tax authorities, lawyers, consultants, auditors.
3. Broad Vision - Ability to analyze the environment, both locally and in a broader context, to gather diverse information potentially relevant to achieving the objectives of the position.
4. Demonstrates a knowledge of business and financial concepts and can assess the situation to minimize risk.
5. Ability to work efficiently in different scenarios, demonstrated by the ability to correct one's own approach as circumstances and situations unfold.
