Our Outbound (OB) Manager in a Sorting Center is responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives.
The Site Leader oversees all aspects of operations and functions at the site.
Key responsibilities include managing and leading a team of sub-area managers; coaching and mentoring them to meet performance objectives; fostering positive employee relations; and developing leadership talent within the Sorting Center.
Additionally, the role ensures effective stakeholder management across Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, Safety, Loss Prevention, and Middle Mile teams.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesDrives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the SC to meet and exceed business plan.Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound, Processing, or Outbound operations.Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and the network.Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree or equivalentWork a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidaysStrong and relevant people and shop floor operations backgroundEnglish knowledge for communication oral and writtenPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logisticsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
