**Purpose of the Job**
The Safety Engineer is responsible for supporting Head EHS Brazil and safety technician team and ctivities within the facility that will ensure occupational health and safety protection for all employees and effective implementation of health and safety programs, policies and regulations.
The Safety Engineer will usually responsible for safety metrics.
Therefore a key responsibility will be to direct the issue to the responsible party(s) for proper handling and resolution.
**Responsibilities**
- The Safety Engineer is to serve as an advisor and counselor for the implementation of the risk assessment or job safety analysis process within the facility, and ensures the facility has a comprehensive process for workplace risk assessment and management.
- The Safety Engineer conducts an assessment to determine the need for personal protective equipment, and makes the appropriate recommendations to the management team.
Then ensure that the affected area(s) train affected employees on how to use the PPE and that the facility keeps an adequate supply on hand.
- Periodic compliance internal audits shall be performed by the Safety Engineer.
These audits are to measure the degree of compliance to existing programs and standards.
The results of the audits are to be shared with the appropriate personnel.
Open concerns are to be tracked until they are completed.
- When government agencies conduct health and safety audits at a facility, communication on the progress and outcome of the audit must be forwarded to the Head EHS and Head Site Taubaté.

Occupational H&S for the area under your control
- Follow specifications of safety requirements for new machinery and equipment, processes and materials.
- Assessing work conditions and the corresponding evaluation of risks.
- Follow actions of the needs for licenses and permits.
- Perform Risk Assessment
- Regular EHS Reports ( Weekly and Monthly)
- EHS Meetings representative
Operational Safety
- Self-Assessments to the Alston Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP) Periodic self-assessments shall be conducted by the Safety Technician.
The results of these self-assessments are to be shared with the appropriate personnel.
Results also should be discussed at safety meetings involving the Head Site and Head EHS.
The Safety Engineer is also expected to lend assistance during formal AZDP audit.
- Collect and complete information systems in monthly basis (Teranga, EHS Connect, SOGI, etc.).
Environmental
