**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Under general supervision performs the following activities:
- Performs a basic level of processing and obtaining customs clearance approval for import/export and transshipments of documents, packages, and merchandise in baggage or air freight
- Regularization of cargo unavailability processes with the Federal Revenue Service and consenting bodies, including physical inspection (express and formal shipment);
- Prepares necessary customs forms to enable import and export procedures to occur in a timely, efficient and effective manner for shipments arriving/departing via aircraft;
- Reception and checking of formal export cargo at the Cargo Terminal (ABV/TECA);
- Prepare cargo documentation for customs clearance;
- Issuance of control reports;
- Reception of cleared cargo by FedEx brokers (Puxe);
- Ensures station's full compliance with country's customs and tax laws and compliance with FedEx policies, procedures, practices and rules;
- Interfaces with customs officials and coordinates customs activities with internal operations officials;
- Customer contacts for customs clearance services; general notifications and controls;
- Keep all customs documentation well organized and properly filed;
- Performs in-station screening and retrieves airfreight from carriers as required;
May be required to perform other duties as assigned
**Minimum Requirements**:
Minimum education:
High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Specific English for customs - basic level
**Minimum Experience**:
Two (2) years of experience in international freight/customs policies, procedures, rules and laws
