About the Role:
The main objective of the Projects and Social Investment Analyst is to support the community relations team and social investment projects within Alumar’s influence communities. The analyst assists in project development, defining indicators, and assessing technical, social, and economic feasibility. They are responsible for shaping the social investment strategy, informed by socioeconomic studies, company guidelines, and community dialogues. The role also involves evaluating synergies with public policy and resource mobilization. All projects and social investments must align with Alcoa’s standards (SP360) and globally recognized institutional norms, integrated into the follow-up actions for Alcoa’s voluntary social investments, including those made by Alcoa Foundation and the Alcoa Institute in the locality. Additionally, the analyst oversees contract integration across the Institutional Relations, Communication, and Sustainability departments. You will be focusing on and adding value by:
1. Develop and maintain relationships with community members, NGOs, and other local stakeholders.
2. Contract Management for the Area
3. Define scopes for program and project contracts.
4. Collect community feedback and communicate it internally to improve company practices.
5. Participate in sustainable development and social responsibility projects.
6. Ensure the adoption of best practices for engaging with landowners and communities.
7. Conduct consultations, obtain consent, and establish agreements with landowners.
8. Provide information for continuous updates to the Stakeholder Matrix.
9. Support activities related to monitoring demographic changes and socio-environmental developments in relevant areas.
10. Foster synergy between operational areas and other support functions, complementing the company’s strategy throughout the mining process.
11. Engage in strategic voluntary social investment actions, ensuring that Alcoa’s sustainability initiatives are implemented through projects and volunteer activities (including those by Alumar, the Alcoa Institute, and Alcoa Foundation).
12. Contribute to positive relationships between Alumar, Alcoa, Alcoa Foundation, and the Alcoa Institute with stakeholders (including the community, government, and civil organizations).
13. Monitor socioeconomic and environmental programs related to family production and non-timber products (such as seedling production).
14. Train and guide employees and third parties on the company’s institutional relations policies, facilitating interactions with local communities.
15. Resource mobilization from government, private companies, suppliers, and international NGOs.
16. Support management in planning and organizing internal and external events related to the field.
17. Ensure compliance with donation and hospitality processes related to community relations and social investment.
18. Contribute to the development of legally mandated (socio-environmental) programs within the department.
19. Support the implementation of the Alcoa Social Performance and Management System Standard.
What you can bring to this role:
20. Higher education in Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related fields.
21. Graduation in areas related to Sustainability and/or Social Responsibility, including Agronomy, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Law, and related fields.
22. Previous experience in community relations, contracts management, and social investments.
23. Knowledge of legislation, regulations, and standards related to communities, social responsibility, and social investment.
24. Communication and negotiation skills.
25. Practical experience in community relations, institutional engagement, and community development is mandatory.
26. Experience with social responsibility projects and initiatives, particularly within the context of the Amazon region, is advantageous.
27. Possession of a valid driver’s license (Category B).
