This position exists to ensure the safe efficient installation, maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment.
TASKS:
Punctual adherence to Site specific time schedule/shift times
Attend safety talks
Complete tasks per issued job cards
Safekeeping of tools
Implement maintenance schedules and procedures
Maintains and repairs all mechanical equipment
Plan for material (and critical spare parts list) and men to assist for jobs
Follow Written Safe Work Procedures
Evaluate and manage SHEQ risks associated with the day-to-day activities
Wear correct PPE for each specific task
Ensure that all safety procedures and site emergencies procedures are followed as per training and site specific standards
Ensure emergency preparedness from all team members
Prepare and deliver daily safety talks in line with the daily activities
Report and record unsafe acts, conditions and incidents
Ensure good work environment
· Participation in all training related activities · Identifies and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance and repairs
Conduct plant inspection of all equipment/tools and default reports in area of responsibility
· Report all faults and problems to line manager · Practice good housekeeping around all work areas
Cleaning of tools
· Store equipment properly · Ensure all work is executed within SHEQ standards
Support SHEQ functions with relevant management information to identify and analyse trends and risks
The position is based in all operating sites where required
When necessary, overtime will be worked
Travel may be required when necessary
Work in adverse weather conditions
Technical Degree in Mechanical
2-4 year Mechanical Learnership/Apprenticeship in any of the following fields: Mining/construction/transport/plant hire or manufacturing
Large experience on hydraulic system: technical specifications and drawings reading, maintenance, parts analysis and liability. It includes all components, not limited to pumps, valves, sealing, pressurized tanks, pipes, connections etc.
Certifications on Flow study and analysis, Hydraulic system issued by credited entities
Experience with piping and accessories assembly, inspection and fabrication (due diligence)
· Experience with assembly, inspection, fabrication and maintenace of mechanical equipment · Medically fit as per company standards
Valid driver's license
