Nuclear Operations Plant Instructor (Plant Farley)
JOB SUMMARY
The Nuclear Operations Plant Instructor will conduct classroom and simulator instruction, design, develop training and examination materials, and process and maintain training records for licensed and non-licensed operator training programs.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design, develop and maintain training and evaluation materials used for operations training programs.
2. Conduct training sessions in various settings to ensure plant staff is trained, retrained and qualified as required.
3. Assist in determining training program effectiveness.
4. Maintain plant training records and qualification programs for plant employees.
5. Conduct training needs, job and task analyses.
6. Conduct quality reviews, research and evaluation as requested by training supervision.
7. Ensure training programs meet high performance standards and expectations.
8. Assist line organizations through temporary assignments, support outages, root cause teams and performance assessment.
9. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain an SRO certification.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements:
1. High School graduate or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science is desired.
2. Previous NRC commercial senior reactor operator or reactor operator license (or certification) is desired.
3. Previous System Operator experience.
4. For candidates without prior commercial experience, prior U. S. Navy nuclear power experience with two or more years as a qualified Reactor Operator, Engineering Officer of the Watch, Engineering Watch Supervisor, or equivalent desired.
Experience Requirements:
1. A total of five (5) years of power plant experience required of which one (1) year is nuclear power plant experience.
2. A maximum of two (2) years’ experience may be fulfilled by academic or related technical training on a one-for-one basis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Detailed knowledge of operating procedures and regulations in assigned area.
2. Detailed knowledge of nuclear plant systems and processes.
3. Working knowledge of plant simulation software.
