**Responsibilities**
The Legal Counsel will primarily focus on providing legal advice to the Group’s global Supply Chain organization but will also have ample opportunities to work on other E&P project and corporate work.
The successful applicant will:
- Provide accurate and timely legal advice on a range of international Supply Chain contracts; participate in tendering and preparation of clarifications; assist and participate in negotiations and drafting until final execution; liaise and coordinate input with relevant internal stakeholders including, finance, tax, insurance, etc.
- Deliver legal advice on commercial matters in support of procurement strategy development, acquisitions, purchasing and other procurement business
- Review, draft and negotiate new vendor contracts and interpret existing contracts
- Oversee maintenance of contracts and ensure proper documentation for renewals and existing contracts and advise Contract Administration
- Ensure compliance with the internal controls, statutory requirements, and other formalities
- Assist in developing strategies for contract storage, maintenance, monitoring, and records management
- Advise the business lines and functions on rules, regulations, relevant laws, partnership agreements, joint operating agreements, and production sharing agreements, concessions, and licenses
- Advise on applicable laws and regulatory guidance, and monitoring and implementing changes in laws and regulations
- Support training programs, policy and process reviews, template revisions and development, and other projects and programs
- Provide legal advice as part of multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional project teams in a variety of legal roles including Supply Chain, logistics, E&P, business development, strategy, project finance, technical.
- Develop and facilitate collaboration by cultivating relationships and effectively counseling, cooperating, and communicating with legal and cross-functional stakeholders
**Requirements**:
**Education / Qualifications**
- J.D. from an accredited law school and bar membership (OAB).
- Must possess a law license, active in good standing with no record of disciplinary history in any jurisdiction
- Double qualification in the US and non-US jurisdiction is regarded as an advantage
- Fluent business and legal English (oral and written)
- Any demonstrated ability to communicate in French or Portuguese is regarded as an advantage
**Experience / Work Skills**
- 5+ years of experience working with vendors, suppliers, and service providers on the purchase and transportation of a variety of products, services, and technology; and knowledge of contract lifecycle management
- Significant background as legal counsel in international procurement, acquisition, and purchasing
- Proven ability to negotiate and manage large, complex service and product agreements with a variety of vendors, service providers, and suppliers
- In depth knowledge and understanding of the technical, contractual, and commercial aspects of oil and gas operations preferre
- Ability to work collaboratively on a solutions-focused self-directed team
- Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to assess and articulate complex and nuanced legal issues clearly and concisely
- Creative problem-solver who can take a leadership role in transactions and resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and practical ways
