**Job Summary:**
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is seeking a Reservation Agent to join our team in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service over the telephone and creating lasting memories for our guests.
Job Description:
As a Reservation Agent at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, you will be the first point of contact for our guests when making reservations or inquiries about our hotel. Your engaging and anticipatory service will make our guests feel valued and reflect the exceptional hotel experience they can expect upon arrival.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Provide professional, friendly and engaging service to all guests
* Follow Front Office policies, procedures and service standards
* Respond to all Room Reservation, Rate Offering and Hotel Information inquiries promptly and professionally via telephone, fax and/or email
* Reserve hotel accommodations for guests in the Leisure, Business Travel, Convention/Association, Corporate Meetings and Wholesale (FIT & IMM) market segments
* Accurately record all required reservation information in the Central Reservations System and/or the Opera Property Management System (PMS)
* Review and update reservations interfacing between the Accor Reservation Systems
* Ensure reservation confirmations are issued promptly and accurately
* Monitor Hotel Inventory to maximize Room Revenues
* Drive the hotel's upsell program by consistently offering best suitable room types according to guest needs and maximizing hotel revenue and earn incentive in accordance with company's standards
* Provide support to our colleagues at Fairmont Global Reservations Centre with guest booking needs
* Ensure GDPR compliance and safeguarding guest privacy with the utmost confidentiality
* Understand special promotions and ensure the information is communicated to various operational departments
* Ensure all cashier paperwork and journals are filed with Manager on duty on a daily basis
* Follow all safety and sanitation policies when at work
* Other duties as assigned
Your Experience and Skills:
* Minimum 1 year Front Office, Reservations or Sales experience required
* Must possess professional telephone etiquette and have an excellent command of the English language
* Must be flexible with shift start/end times and available to work both weekdays and weekends, depending on operational needs
* Typing skills, approximately 40 words per minute
* Property Manager (Opera), and Microsoft Office applications experience an asset
* Excellent knowledge of hotel facilities and surrounding areas
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
* Highly responsible & reliable
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
