Summary
Craig Technologies has an opening for Engineering Technician IV working out of the McMurdo Ground Station in Antarctica. This position will be supporting the Near Earth Network organization within the NASA Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract. The position requires deployment to Antarctica for periods of six months at a time.
Essential Functions
* Provide semi-professional technical support for engineers in research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement related to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment.
* Operate equipment for scientific or engineering data collection.
* Prepare design drawings and assist with the design, evaluation, and/or modification of machinery and equipment.
* Develop or review designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data; apply conventional engineering practices to develop schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings, and parts lists.
* Conduct tests or experiments requiring the selection and adaptation of critical test equipment and procedures.
* Document and analyze data and prepare test reports.
* Construct experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conduct tests and redesign as necessary.
Required Experience
5 - 8 years of related experience
Required Education
Two year Technical Degree or Applicable Certification
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
* Position requires working in a remote Arctic environment
* Work Schedule is 9 hours per day, Monday through Saturday.
* Must be able to pass extensive Medical pre-qualification prior to deployment
