We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Leader in CPU Microarchitecture to head our CPU research team. This role involves strategic leadership and deep technical expertise to drive the development of next-generation CPU architectures. The successful candidate will oversee projects from conceptualization to implementation, including design, simulation, and optimization phases. This position requires a visionary leader with a robust track record in microarchitecture design and a passion for advancing computing technologies.
Responsibilities
* Lead the research and development of innovative CPU microarchitecture designs on the core area to enhance performance, power efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
* Develop and execute strategic research agendas to keep Huawei at the forefront of the semiconductor industry.
* Mentor and manage a team of microarchitecture researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, algorithm, and product development, to ensure cohesive and practical CPU design implementations.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in CPU and semiconductor technologies.
* Publish findings, patent innovations, and represent the company at industry conferences, contributing to the broader academic and professional communities.
* Drive the analysis of performance bottlenecks, propose architectural improvements, and lead efforts to implement these changes in product designs.
Requirements
* PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on computer architecture.
* 15+ years of experience in CPU microarchitecture, including significant experience in a leadership role.
* Demonstrated track record of successful CPU design and implementation projects.
* Experienced background of modeling / performance evaluation, well understand the modeling issues.
* Extensive knowledge of semiconductor processing, chip design, and performance optimization techniques.
* Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of highly skilled engineers and researchers.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Publications at top tier conferences like ISCA/MICRO/HPCA etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with ASIC design flow and tools.
* History of publications and patents in CPU architecture.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements in semiconductor manufacturing.
