About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine designed to maximize sustainability. Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages.
Purpose
The Supervisor Site Operations leads a team focused on the management and support of on-site operational technology and systems (e.g., Site ops, Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC), and coaches and develops teams to deliver high performance.
About the Role
To be successful in this role, you will:
1. Deliver effective and timely responses to service requests, resolve incidents/problems and manage the Technology service catalogue.
2. Build and deploy packages for installation, manage patching, troubleshoot end-user devices, and conduct low-level asset and inventory management.
3. Translate user and business requirements into secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure solution architecture that meets current and forecasted demand levels.
4. Monitor and maintain safety systems and advise on system safety issues.
5. Develop safety requirements specifications, define and implement safety lifecycle management strategies.
6. Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluate multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
7. Make evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.
8. Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
9. Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
Work Location
This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. As this role is not eligible for accommodation in the site camp, the incumbent must live within a reasonable commuting distance (< 90km) of the Jansen site.
About You
To be considered, you will need:
1. Tertiary qualification in Technology, Engineering or Trade equivalent.
2. IT Service Management Framework (ITIL Foundation) certification.
3. Experience with Service Now (SNoW) Process & Systems, SAP Work Management & related technology systems.
4. Demonstrated experience working in an Operational Environment as an IT/OT Technician.
5. Ability to coordinate and support the improvement of defined Process.
6. Strong understanding of Safety, Workplace, Priority & Contractor Management.
7. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) across relevant stakeholders, providing quick and accurate responses to all queries and support as required.
8. Proven experience leading and growing a high-performance team whilst creating an environment of trust and collaboration.
9. Ability to influence up to Superintendents and Managers as well as manage stakeholders.
