Key Responsibilities
JavaScript Development:
* Design, build, and maintain JavaScript applications and services.
* Ensure high-quality, efficient, and robust code.
Terraform & AWS Management:
* Leverage Terraform to define and provision our AWS infrastructure.
* Set up, configure, and optimize AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, etc.) with a focus on security and scalability.
DevOps & Architecture:
* Oversee CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and system monitoring.
* Collaborate on architectural decisions, ensuring reliability and performance.
Leadership & Mentoring:
* Act as a reference point for best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving approaches.
* Coach and guide other developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
* Properly document all code, infrastructure configurations, and processes.
* Facilitate the hand-off of knowledge to team members to ensure long-term maintainability.
Problem-Solving & Autonomy:
* Independently tackle challenges, from debugging complex issues to creating new functionality with minimal oversight.
* Make logical, data-driven decisions that balance speed and quality.
What Success Looks Like
First 3 Months:
* Rapidly deliver multiple backlog items with minimal supervision.
* Integrate smoothly into the team and begin establishing yourself as a go-to expert.
First 6 Months:
* Emerge as a key driver in moving the organization forward, consistently contributing high-quality deliverables.
* Demonstrate effective problem-solving, and guide peers in adopting best practices.
First Year:
* Become a vital reference for team members, setting high standards in code quality and efficiency.
* Actively replicate our culture, ensuring new developers align with our values and practices.
Required Skills & Qualification:
* JavaScript Expertise (Top Priority): At least 3 years of professional experience building and maintaining JavaScript applications.
* Terraform Proficiency: Capable of starting a project from scratch and managing AWS infrastructure as code.
* AWS Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS admin interfaces, security best practices, and DevOps workflows.
* Team & Communication Skills: Excellent collaborator with strong communication; comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
* Self-Starter Mentality: Able to excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance, proactively seeking solutions.
* English Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication in English.
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Demonstrated experience launching products from scratch (bonus if they scaled to multiple users).
Preferred Experiences (Nice-to-Have):
* AI/ML Familiarity: Willingness to learn AI concepts; prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.
* Entrepreneurial/CTO Background: Experience creating a startup or serving in a leadership role (CTO, tech lead, etc.).
* Achievements: Such as winning coding competitions, contributing to open-source projects, or holding advanced certifications.
