Description
As an onboarding team member, you will assist with operational readiness for implementing defined benefit (pension) and defined contribution (401(k)) retirement plans.You will support the process of client contracting through implementing and funding of the client’s investment strategy. You will interact with the client, client teams, operational teams, and the client’s third parties, including custodial banks and investment managers, each who also play key roles in the overall project plan that you will maintain.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successfully manage multiple activities in investment operations for a variety of clients.
Respond to requests from internal or external clients for additional information as assigned
Clearly and efficiently communicate with custodial banks, investment and fund managers, record-keepers and other external parties involved, as well as client servicing and operational teams, to ensure all activities are aligned
Adhere to our Professional Excellence principles to ensure that work is completed accurately and to a high standard
Demonstrate risk-management excellence and adhere to documented procedures
Provide specialist advice to the various teams in the business
Support the Operations (Onboarding, Trade Management, Middle Office, Investment Performance and Processing, and Third-Party Oversight) team, developing good working relationships and openly communicating on work matters.
Consistently interact with other team members and client teams to keep them informed on progress and ensure they also carry out any required actions
Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
Other duties as assigned including project work that may include documenting processes, creating templates, or maintaining data.
Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Communicate issues to the team lead and client team in a timely manner with proactive follow-up as necessary
Manage work according to deadlines
Qualifications
The Requirements
Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is a must
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting, asset management or investment operations environment
Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business or related, or equivalent work experience
Project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, but also cooperatively in a team environment
Team-player with the ability to fit seamlessly into the wider practice
Keen attention to detail
Strong service orientation and sense of urgency regarding client needs
Microsoft office advanced (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Ability to liaise with third-party organizations (Investment Managers and Custodians/Banks) and with all levels of staff within the practice
