About the Role
Our Technology function consists of technology partners who work closely with our Assets and Operations to drive improvement in safety, volume and cost through the application of world-class technology. As Superintendent of Site Infrastructure & Operations you will be responsible for ensuring the Process Operational Technologies (OT), Information Technologies (IT), Support and End User Services support strategy are in line with current and future state business requirements. You will develop a collaborative approach, encouraging and maintaining good relationships with key operational personnel on site.
Reporting to the Head of Technology of Escondida, your key accountabilities will include:
1. Lead, coach and mentor team members to ensure delivery against performance targets.
2. Execute secure work systems for Technology, using existing work management processes. Coordinating efforts between technological, production and security areas to align objectives and maximize results.
3. Lead health, safety and performance through proactive leadership, apply the BHP risk management framework and create a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. Encourages Zero Harm philosophy.
4. Provide leadership and direction for the safe execution of incident management and maintenance activities that reduce failure rates and downtime of Mining Process OT equipment and Systems Escondida.
5. Execute service management operational processes to drive consistent service delivery over the technology responsibility of your role.
6. Manage area technologies and services to ensure continuous delivery, meet and exceed SLAs.
7. Execute planned work in a safe manner, that supports the transition of new or enhanced Technology services from Projects or Design & Modification to application and asset owners.
8. Management of all site-based OT assets including deployment pool, spares, repairs and maintenance along with the required records and documentation to support compliance.
9. Apply work management processes and ensure compliance to the departments KPI’s.
10. Develop the skills and capability to manage Information and Operational Technologies.
11. Foster an environment of collaboration and effective communication between specialists and other mine operating teams.
12. Evaluate team performance, provide continuous feedback and ensure necessary training.
13. Provide information, when necessary, on service attributes such as performance, availability, capacity, security, service level agreements, etc. to analyze service performance and apply improvements based on data and best practices.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience in the following:
1. A STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) Degree or Electronics and Communication Engineering.
2. Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in the mining sector, with a focus on technological systems and compliance with operational requirements.
3. Ability to lead large matrix teams including third-party vendors.
4. Ability to manage multiple inputs and effectively prioritize high value-added / high risk issues for attention.
5. Success in a similar role within the Mining or Natural Resources industry where safety is top priority.
6. Experience implementing safe operational support of mission-critical solutions in a large-scale environment.
7. Good understanding of safe maintenance processes and the maturity levels of a maintenance organization.
8. Experience with contractor management and performance management.
9. Experience developing and managing budget.
10. Intermediate English Level.
11. Availability to work on Escondida mine site on a 4x3 working schedule.
