The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.
As the Senior Project Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to independently lead a project team of cross-functional engineers to support various projects across the organization. You will manage the most important and challenging projects, define project resources, performance reviews, and post-implementation evaluations.
Take ownership of the successful implementation of the projects.
Assist users in defining complex data reports, perform in-depth financial analysis, and develop qualitative insights to inform business decisions.
What You’ll Work On
* Independently lead a project team to identify, scope, plan, and conduct medium-size to complex assigned projects. Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
* Understand the business needs and have a thorough knowledge of the customer when developing a project scope. Incorporate business foresight of emerging technological trends. Lead development of Project Charter and document the initial requirements that satisfy stakeholder needs and expectations. Establish engineering project objectives and technical criteria for evaluating project results and activities of the project team.
* Monitor and control project work to meet the performance objectives defined in the project plan. Focus on cost and milestone achievement to optimize resource utilization.
* Identify areas of risk and mitigate risks through early risk assessments and implementation of fallback/mitigation strategies.
* Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project. This may include preparing engineering designs and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.
* Direct the work of project team members, set goals and objectives, and monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
* Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project.
* Set priorities, allocate tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
* Assist users in defining new complex data reports by translating user needs to Power BI reports.
* Perform in-depth financial analysis to evaluate savings potential, track performance and inform decision making.
* Prepare reports, publish, and make presentations to communicate findings.
* Develop qualitative insights from reports to inform business decisions.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree, preferably in mechanical, industrial, chemical, electrical, bio-medical or related discipline
* Minimum 8 years of experience in an engineering or operational role
* Problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in leading gross margin, distress inventory reduction, material run-out, compliance projects, and 2nd supplier qualification for class 3 medical devices.
* Experience in data mapping across multiple systems.
* Experience working with a global Data Warehouse SAP Business Objects to use for complex reporting.
* Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
* Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
