Manage the import and intercompany operations of the company for both Laguna and Cavite sites and Eastwood engineering center in compliance with the applicable international and local regulations. Provide assistance to Purchasing and Planning in achieving the material in-house date requirements. Review and sign-off fully-audited freight invoices (for invoice value below US$5,000) from various service providers prior to payment processing of Finance or and prior to the final approval of Logistics Director (for invoice value above US$5,000). Support the Logistics Director in driving efforts and strategies to improve import operations in order to meet the freight-in targets as set by the Logistics head along with other top management. Acts as the second point of contact of all logistics providers on shipment and service issues.Supports and measures Import and Billing team goals, KRA/KPI's as set by the PH Logistics head.RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee the day to day import operations of the companyManage the distribution of jobs and resources judiciously so that productivity levels are optimizedOversee compliance with all Import policies and procedures.Manage the performance of the logistics Import Supervisor and staff to properly coordinate shipments at origin with vendors/forwarders/cross dock operators & ensure there are no issues with the timely delivery and execution of shipmentsManage all the import activities of the company through close coordination with internal customers such as Purchasing, Planning, including Vendors.Manage Freight-In performance of the factory.Ensure Buyers / Planners / Purchasing are equipped with the right tools to make decisions on the most cost efficient method for shipping raw materials based on the required Material In House dateThorough screening of all AFA/ATS requests particularly those expedited shipments by validating their MIH.Assist in the close monitoring/reporting of expedited air shipments.Release weekly freight-in report to Purchasing to show the weekly freight-in% performance vs the Freight-in% to MR as set by top management.Review and sign off all import freight invoices of various service providersVerify and approve freight invoices (with value below US$5,000) based on the quotations on file prior to submission/transmittal of invoices to our Finance A/P group.Validate the month-end freight-in report prior to presentation to PH Logistics head and eventual submission to Finance.Drive efforts to enhance the company's freight tracking system.Manage continuous enhancements of existing systems to reduce manual activities and assure accuracy of data gathering as linked with the company's main order processing system - Oracle.Oversee the Local Transfer operationsMonitor the performance of the intercompany transfers to ensure that no trip will be skipped.Review the monthly expenses from outsourcing and truck maintenance as submitted by the supervisor.Manage requirements and formalize correspondences to PEZA, Bureau of Customs and to any other entities and suppliers to ensure continuity of operations.Prepare correspondences whenever the company needs to communicate with the government agencies or with carriers and brokers.
