Amazon BR is looking for a Sr. Team Lead to manage the Softlines team in Retail. You will play an important role within the Retail team by adding selection, analyzing business data, driving vendor performance, negotiating terms and handling promotions. As a Team Leader, you will report to the Head of MVR and develop relationships with several of our key vendors and partners. You will work with Brazilian and global vendors to drive all aspects of terms improvements, which includes analysis and projections, as well as direct negotiations with decision makers in local vendors. Additionally, you will increase product category sales by driving store marketing promotions, negotiating partners to improve selection, and reacting to industry-related economic trends.
You will have excellent verbal and written communication, the ability to analyze and communicate complex terms and margin structure and work well across other teams including Finance and Inventory Management. Candidates who are organized, flexible, creative, analytical, and able to drive negotiations through completion will be highly appreciated. Key job responsibilities
1. Partner with Vendor Managers, Instock managers and key retail category functions to define priorities and operational goals according to vendor needs.
2. Manage a team of Vendor and Instock Managers owning the category strategy and deliver significant business impact (you will be accountable for the business results of your team).
3. Coach and Train your team on Amazon mechanisms, processes, tools and business topics. As a Sr. Team Lead, you will have to develop the right skill sets within the team and allocate resources to vendors.
4. Support the business by auditing daily business operations and drive the optimization of the business metrics.
5. Audit metrics regularly to continually drive quality of vendor and employee experience across multiple sub-categories.
6. Own relevant business areas for your entire category, maximizing category results at scale.
7. Drive vendor adoption of Amazon programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- (i) People experience: Candidates need to be Passionate about coaching/developing people; need to have evidence of people leadership (either as a direct line manager of a team or as the leader of a key project where they needed to set the direction for others and influence without authority); and need to be active interviewers (MGHD is a pre-requisite); (ii) Communication and Influencing Stakeholders skills: a) ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different functional groups including senior business leaders, finance, HR and developers, b) ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and key partners and c) experience delivering through others; (iii) Business knowledge: Candidates need to have (a) previous experience in AVS Retail in other MP than BR; (iv) Level: Candidates need to have > 9 months experience after becoming L6; (v) Projects: Previous experience of managing large-scale projects end to end; (vi) Languages: a) Business proficiency in English language (written and verbal), b) willingness to learn Portuguese with means provided by Amazon.
