Job Description:
In this role as a Senior Procurement Technical Professional, you will report to the Director of Strategic Procurement and will be primarily responsible for applying technical expertise and experience to drive communication, collaboration, and problem solving for the procurement organization supporting global Caterpillar-owned supplier tooling management, compliance, training, and process improvements.
What you will do:
* Leading a variety of complex supplier tooling-related initiatives, projects, processes, and operations with innovative thinking.
* Initiating and driving collaboration among engineering personnel, business unit procurement teams, suppliers, and Caterpillar tax, technical accounting, and legal experts.
* Providing guidance and leadership on complex technical issues in the resolution of supplier quality problems.
* Implementing new ideas on products, processes, technologies, techniques, and procedures.
* Driving the continued development of a state-of-the-art tooling management system.
* Benchmarking Caterpillar against industry leaders to drive world-class tools and processes.
* Providing standard work and documentation supported by training.
* Managing and modifying the supplier tooling Procurement Purchasing Practice.
What you will have:

* Interprets results of quantitative and statistical tools.
* Develops programs for motivating personnel to meet or exceed quality goals.
Data-driven Decision Making:
* Advises on advanced data analysis methodologies.
* Designs KPIs and metrics to analyze data.
* Oversees data gathering and analysis activities.
Influencing:
* Develops persuasive arguments.
* Uses active listening skills to surface opportunities to influence.
Problem Solving:
* Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
* Uses fact-finding techniques to identify problems.
Key Manufacturing Processes and Related Tooling:
Able to understand the requirements regarding tooling/fixtures for the foundry industry, forgings, machining, injection molding, sheet metalwork, and fabrications.
Basic requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree
* English Pre-Advanced
