As a Financial Controller you will be responsible for the financial activities of Lucy Equipamentos Elétricos Ltda.
**Job Context**
- Lucy Equipamentos Elétricos Ltda. is member of the Lucy Electric groupco of the privately owned Lucy Group Ltd based in Oxford UK. LEE is based in Araucaria, Brazil and serves the South American market. The business has an ambitious growth plan to double turnover over next 5 year.
- As a key member of the leadership team, you will support strategy development and ongoing review of the business in alignment with Lucy Electric and the group’s overall strategy.
- You will be responsibility for all financial compliance within the country including tax and for collaborating with Group Tax.
- You will report to the Group Finance Director and will work locally with the Head of the Business.
**Job Dimensions**
- Lead the financial reporting and compliance activities for the business in accordance with the Group requirements and support the business leadership team in operational performance reporting and analysis.
- Responsibility for financial Tax and Treasury compliance for the business, collaborating with FP&A, Tax and Treasury Teams in Group Finance.
**Key Accountabilities**
1. Financial Reporting
- Reporting financial results to Group Finance.
- Preparation and issue of monthly results and financial commentary.
- Preparation of local annual statutory accounts.
- Development of management reporting.
- Fixed asset and headcount reporting.
2. Financial Planning
- Preparation of quarterly profit, balance sheet and cash flow forecast.
- Preparation of annual budget and co-ordination of management plan.
- Provide an input into Lucy Electric’s medium term strategic plan.
3. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with group financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within the region.
- Manage relationship with local auditors and support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and documentation as required.
- Monitor and mitigate financial risks by identifying potential issues, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate controls.
- Responsibility for maintenance of financial records, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash books and fixed asset register.
- Development of financial control systems and procedures.
4. Treasury
- Responsibility for funding and cash flow management.
- Responsibility for trade financing arrangements (e.g. Letters of credit; Bills of exchange).
- Responsibility for foreign currency conversion (working with Group Treasury department).
- Responsibility for customer credit limits and cash collections.
- Manage local banking relationships.
5. Tax
- Compliance with local tax regulations.
- Responsibility for on time filing of all tax returns.
- Manage the relationship with local tax advisors and tax authorities.
- Collaborate with Group Tax department.
6. Business Partnering
- Provide financial advice and support to the Business Head and local management.
- Network with local management to improve information for decision making.
- Develop financial and operating management information.
- Supporting business initiatives (e.g. outsourcing, cost control and reduction).
- Fixed asset investment appraisal.
- Undertake business travel in Brazil or abroad when required.
7. Development of Business Systems
- Lead the operation and development of Microsoft D365 finance activities and work with the operations and supply chain team to improve operating efficiencies ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Support the development of best practice and performance metrics.
8. Management and Development of Finance team
- Setting individual Objectives.
- Performing employee reviews.
- Employee development plans.
- Regular team engagement.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required/instructed in order to maintain and/or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided.
**Qualifications, Experience & Skills**
- ***Fully qualified accountant education** to degree level or equivalent
- ** **5 years’ accounting experience **within a commercial and manufacturing business.
- Previous accounting **experience within an SME - manufacturing and commercial operations**:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills **both in Portuguese and English **with the ability to communicate financial data to non-financial employees.
- Able to produce management reports with the ability to present the results in meetings.
- Strong experience in the production of monthly management accounts to Senior Management teams.
- IT literate proficient in MS Office software (incl. strong Excel skills) and Finance packages.
- Extensive experience in analysing data for decision making purposes and able to communicate the
