About The Opportunity
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Determine and guide the daily development of plastic/resin production processes in injection molding and structural foam.
2. Develop and oversee processes to ensure quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met.
3. Assist production with process control, provide daily technical support, troubleshoot problems, and take corrective actions when needed.
4. Serve as a resource on the production floor to help determine and correct plastics/resin issues, improve processes, and create or maintain successful programs.
5. Work as a cross-functional team member with injection molding tooling and project management during development of processes, various tooling designs, and cost analysis.
6. Improve workforce by training production technicians in efficient machine operation and revised production processes.
7. Develop and support tooling modifications and changes that positively impact machine utilization, efficiency, and quality.
Education, Experience, & Skills
1. Bachelor’s degree in Plastics preferred.
2. 5+ years of plastic process engineering experience preferred.
3. Experience with plastic injection molding required, structural foam processing a plus.
4. Extensive knowledge of the plastics, molding process, molding equipment and mold tooling.
5. Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.
6. Project management and process improvement expertise.
7. Strong at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
8. Possesses the ability to interpret an extensive variety of plastics materials data sheets.
Required Work Experience:
1. 3 years of related lab experience.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced level of Excel.
Desired:
1. 3 years of related lab experience in previous employment.

Travel Requirements:
1. 5-10% travel.

May experience high temperatures while in manufacturing environment; extended periods of standing.
